Newcastle team support’s Joe’s Place drop-in centre

21/5/18 : Earlier in the year, following a visit to the project, TClarke in Newcastle decided to support local charity Joe’s Place. Jim Stewart, explains why.

Joe’s Place is a ‘Drop-in’ centre with a difference – a hot meal with table service and the warmest of welcomes every Wednesday. It is located in the heart of Gateshead and we were able to spend time at the project with a longstanding volunteer, Wilf McNeany.

Wilf explained to us how Joe’s Place is a project run by St Cuthbert’s Care – the charitable arm of the Hexham and Newcastle Diocese of the Catholic Church. And during our time there we saw that they really do give a great welcome to everyone and that the work they do is so valuable and well-received.

Deciding to sponsor them and support them makes great sense to us. We’re very much part of the community, with many projects in Gateshead over the years – so the connection is one we’re very happy to make.
