TClarke Transport Division’s team on the Paddington Bakerloo Link project have been awarded the Safety Cup for February by the Costain Skanska Joint Venture. The award was presented for the team’s general attitude to safety, safely coordinating the works interfaces with other contractors and observation reporting.
As Contracts Manager Daniel Grant says, “This was a great achievement, given the constraints of working within a tunnel environment, in the vicinity of ongoing heavy civils works for the escalator shaft. It is the result of the ongoing close planning, management of the works and collaboration between TClarke, the Costain Skanska Joint Venture and the remaining sub-contractors.”
TClarke Group Managing Director Mike Crowder expressed the business’ delight at the award. “Left to right the picture shows: Sam Skates (supervisor), John O’Brien, Peter Stickings, Jeff George, Hughie Donnelly, Liam Packham, Gary Dearsley, Steve Taylor, Andy Simmons and Paul Elliman. I am very proud to recognise each of them and the whole team onsite and in the office. These awards matter to our business so much because they tell you something about our health and safety culture. We can’t ever get complacent but we can definitely take a moment to recognise the work that individuals and teams do every day, to ensure their safety and the safety of others.”
