Ribbons on target, but how far did we go?

London Commercial Division Director David Lee reports on TClarke’s performance in the annual Multiplex Charity Football tournament supporting the Chicken Shed and Willow Foundation charities.

Our squad was a strong one composed of site operatives, engineers and surveyors from across our London business:  Ricky Wadman, Will Catterall, Joe Gillibrand, Ryan Marley, Harrison Brown, Tom Ribbons, Kirk Hodgskin, Donnie Sheppard and Joe Wadman.

We started very brightly with Tom Ribbons scoring within 20 seconds of kick off in our first game. He scored again and we won 2-0 against Multiplex Dynamos. In the second game we played Argus Fire FC which had some heated exchanges!. Tom scored the decisive goal after we dominated the game and we won 1-0, playing some good quality football. In the third game we were maybe overconfident and also a bit tired - in any case we ddn’t take our chance and lost by a single goal to Berocca Juniors (Prater) - the only goal we were to concede in open play all day.

We went through as group winners to the last sixteen and won that game 1-0 against BUUK All Stars with a fine goal from Harrison Brown. That set up a quarter final with hosts Multiplex Tornadoes which was very even. Unfortunately we didn’t take our chances and it went to penalties. Even though Ricky Wadman did save one quite brilliantly, we went out on penalties.
