TClarke’s highly sought after Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the best regarded in the construction and engineering industries. TClarke’s Training and Apprenticeship Co-ordinator Maggie Lanchester, has been interviewing for the next London intake. Here she talks about the support for new apprentices which the programme provides.
The TClarke Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the best in the UK. Our aim is to keep improving its quality to ensure we help our young people get the most from the start of their careers with us.
This week we’ve been interviewing, and it is great to see that the standards are very high. Many of our prospective apprentices have already undertaken work experience with us. All the applicants interviewed, so far, have clearly researched the company and shown considerable interest in what we do.
The success of our Apprenticeship Scheme is not only down to the quality of our intake but also to our mentors. Part of my role as Training and Apprenticeship Co-ordinator is to allocate each apprentice with a mentor. Having a mentor actively available to provide advice and support is vital to our apprentices’ progress. Our mentors have passed through their own apprenticeship, have considerable site experience and great knowledge of the industry and their profession which they pass on to each new apprentice.
