TClarke wins major new healthcare relationships

12/5/20 : TClarke’s win of a new Cath Lab project at University Hospitals Bristol is of strategic significance. TClarke UK South Director Rob Faro explains why.

We’re extremely pleased to be able to announce our success in winning another specialist healthcare project, a new Cardiac Catherisation Lab (Cath Lab) project at University Hospitals Bristol (UHB) working with BAM construction. Once complete the state of the art Cath Lab and associated preparation and recovery facilities will provide additional capacity for the hospital’s highly skilled Cardiology team to diagnose and treat heart disorders. Our unique expertise in complex healthcare engineering and technology is once again being put to good use for this project.

This is a major win for a few reasons.

Firstly, this is a key project, at the start of major redevelopments at UHB. This is a major new hospital relationship for TClarke, that further builds our healthcare portfolio at an opportune moment. Healthcare projects with their complexity, high skills requirement and demands for people who can work well in a live hospital environment, suit TClarke’s capabilities and in-house resource very well. It should be noted that the UHB has a series of major development projects set to follow in sequence, so this positions us well at the start of even more substantial project opportunities.

Secondly, this is our first project in the region for a major new construction partner – principal contractor BAM. Our strategy has been to develop these major partnerships across the region and so bring TClarke the scale and quality of opportunities we want. We are delighted to have been selected and look forward to building this relationship throughout the project.

Thirdly, it is well known that TClarke has the medium and long-term strategy of building our regional businesses by winning more of the larger, high-quality projects in the market. This project and these new relationships fit our target profile perfectly.

Group CEO Mark Lawrence also commented:

“This is another excellent example of our strategy delivering results. TClarke is ready – we have the skills and the people nationwide to deliver healthcare projects now and in the coming years. These projects require a stable, high quality resource of people – and that’s our key advantage in the marketplace. We are again delighted to see the effectiveness of our teams in becoming leaders in the healthcare sector.”
