We’re always training a new generation

18/11/22: A couple of months ago TClarke announced its highest apprenticeship intake in a decade – a total of seventy apprentices across the UK. On 1st November the London apprentices received their power tool familiarisation at TClarke’s manufacturing centre in Stansted.

Simon Baker, Prefabrication Operations Manager, who hosted the event. explained its importance.

“At TClarke apprenticeship is such an important part of your career; It’s where you develop your skills – and even more importantly, the standards that make you a TClarke engineer. So across the country we go to great lengths to do things the right way. Safety is absolutely paramount – and so both Chris Powell and Connor Callinan from our Health & Safety team accompanied the apprentices, along with our Workforce Engagement Manager, Dean Edwards.

“By taking things so seriously, investing the time, money and commitment of our people, we demonstrate the realities of our safety standards. That’s how the TClarke Way works – standards are passed on personally, year by year. As a TClarke Engineer, I take pride and pleasure in hosting these events myself.”

The apprentices who attended were: Nathan Bull, Thomas Hollick, Carter Kent, Freddie Mills, Jensen Monk, George Cork, Archie Vials, Max Robbins, Ryan Eagan, Shiloh Meyers, Kristian Ulusan, Jack Tavener, Paddy Kirby, Ronnie McMullen, and Cameron Bullard.

Their day started with a talk and a tour of our manufacturing facility, followed by power tool training which involved: Jig saws, reciprocating saws, circular, saws, combi drills, impact drivers, and hammer drills. During the day the apprentices were taught how to change blades, install drill bits and how to safely operate the equipment. They also practiced on drilling into concrete blocks and drilling cutting and sawing trunking and tray work.

In addition, our three mechanical apprentices; Jack Tavener, Paddy Kirby and Ronnie McMullen were all presented with their mechanical tool kits by Simon Baker.
