TClarke aims to inspire on men’s health and mental health

At TClarke’s headquarters last week, inspirational speaker Elvin Box delivered the first of his presentations on men’s health and mental health. In the coming weeks Elvin will tour our London sites with the purpose of getting both men and women thinking and talking on these subjects, with plans to gauge feedback and then roll out a nationwide programme across the TClarke group.

The facts are stark; one in five men die before the age of 65, one in eight will get prostate cancer, one in four have mental health problems and for those aged between 15 and 49 the most common cancer is testicular cancer. In every case, knowledge massively impacts early detection and chances of survival ; so Elvin has made it his mission to share knowledge that men and women can use to save their lives, and those of loved ones and friends.

Group Health and Safety Director Josh Bourne is behind the programme :

“Elvin is someone who genuinely deserves his billing as an inspirational presenter. He has the power to touch us all with his wit, humour and genuine passion. His personal experience as a cancer survivor – and as a man touched personally by the issues of suicide and mental health – give his sessions a very direct impact. More than that, today has shown he is an extremely effective educator leaving each of us, within just an hour, with a lot of extremely valuable knowledge.

“What makes Elvin’s presentation even more powerful is the fact that he has spent his life in our industry. He speaks in clear terms of personal experiences which are very easy to relate to . He handles the hardest subjects – that people often do not find comfortable discussing – and he does it with dignity and impact.

“Our goal is not just to tick the box on mental health and men’s health – we want to make sure that we reach all our people and build up our ability to deal with the challenges as individuals and as people who look out for each other.”
