TClarke’s record 900 applications for Apprenticeships across the UK sends message to the market

TClarke has received a record 900 applications for its highly-regarded apprenticeship scheme across the UK and Group Chief Executive Mark Lawrence is delighted with the quality of applicants seeking to join the company in 2023.

“This record level of applications feeds into our ongoing growth story as we build our in-house resource with quality engineers to deliver client projects. The message to the markets is that we are taking action to build and expand our high-quality talent pipeline. Our long term investment in apprenticeships gives us a significant advantage in being able to attract the best calibre of people into our business, right across the nation. This in turn feeds our ongoing ability to give our clients the resources they need for their projects.

“Our apprenticeship scheme is well known as one of the very best in any high-skill area of engineering across the UK. We take a great pride in the exceptionally high percentage of people who successfully complete and the numbers that then go on to join us as full time mechanical, electrical and software engineers. Our technical apprenticeships are the foundation for careers and further professional education across a very wide range of disciplines.

“As someone who himself started as a TClarke apprentice, I am fully committed to delivering the best apprenticeship scheme in our industry and I know from personal experience just how much time and energy frontline engineers within our company put into helping our apprentices to develop and succeed.

“This year and in years going forward, we are also delighted to be taking a lead in another important way – by increasing the number of female entrants to our business (via this and other routes) to 25% of all entrants by 2028. We know this is a huge target, given where the industry is now, but we are determined to create the best opportunities for women in the built environment and to access the widest range of talents we can – to the benefit of our business, our clients and people across the UK.”
